Christmas List: For My Great Love

I found this amazing person, this one man who truly makes me whole. He never gives up. He knows my strengths and he knows my weaknesses and he is always there for me, helping me improve, which I've found life is all about. He is also kind, funny and very clever. He knows when to push me and when not to. He compliments me and together I believe we are great and that we truly are a perfect match. He is also my best friend. You know the kind who not only makes you smile but also doesn't always agree with you but still understands you well enough to know exactly why you think and say what you do. He knows all of me and sometimes that scares me. Now, we are getting married and taking such a giant leap and I simply can't wait. Andreas, you have enchanted me completely and I will be forever grateful for the day we met. I love you.

Christmas List: For My Superhero Father

My father is truly my family's superhero, he is always, always there for us no matter what. We can call him any time, day or night, and be sure he will pick up the phone, listen and answer any question or wondering with brilliance and wit. That is a feat considering he has us four girls and our mother and we are constantly in need of advice. He is also humble, wise and has this amazing stash of fantastic stories from his many adventures all over the world and he tells with new twists every time. We never tire of them. As children our parents read to us every night, Alice in Wonderland, The Secret Garden, Asken Yggdrasil, Eloise and Robinson Crusoe were favorites among others, which I think has fostered all of us to read, read, read and never stop imagining.

My father is also an excellent cook, I can't say I know anyone as great, his Osso Buco is heaven. My mother sometimes says she doesn't see the point in going to restaurants since my father can make everything on the menu ten times better. Maybe that says it all?

Christmas List: For My Golden Mother

My mother is amazing and golden in so many ways apart from her love of gold...and leopard prints. For starters she is someone who my three sisters and I can really look up to. Not only has she managed us four for so many years, she has also had a very impressive career and is always, always improving taking courses like Philosophical Perspectives on Risk at the University while working full time. And then there are the parties, my parents both host and go to more parties than us four girls combined. Madness, seriously. What's more impressive is that she looks fantastic every day, no matter the occasion.

If I turn out remotely as beautiful, successful and utterly fantastic as my mother I will be one lucky girl.

Friday Wishlist: Bride To Be Beauty

 

No, I'm not doing my own make-up for our wedding, my lovely friend Filippa Smedhagen-Sund is and she will no doubt do a fantastic job. I am infinitely grateful that she takes time out of her busy schedule to help me, I would definitely mess up. Filippa, thank you.

But, if I was doing my own make-up, these are the products I would use. My father gave me Serge Luterns Sarrasins and it is a perfect wedding day perfume, not too heavy and quite romantic but still mysterious and rich. And of course, it is the purplest perfume I have ever seen and I love purple. The color seriously does not justify wearing a certain perfume but still. If you like jasmine you should try Sarrasins.

Friday Wishlist: Forget Me Not

Since I first found them in New York a couple of years ago I've loved Forget-me-not's scarves. The label is headed by French illustrator and art director Coco Brun and the scarves all bear her breathtaking illustrations.

I think the reason I like them is because they remind me of the fantastic fairytales I read as a child, Narnia, Peter Pan and Alice in Wonderland in particular. Faraway places, kings, queens, real and fantasy animals and creatures, even clocks all have their place in Forget-me-not's scarves.

My parents are going hunting this weekend with a group of friends. I'm pretty sure my mother never held a gun and it is wildly known my father wouldn't hurt a fly. He has a soft heart. They certainly like being outdoors, especially in Stockholm's archipelago and also hiking in the alps but hunting, no. So, I decided to assemble a hit list for surviving the wild to help them along.

Friday Wishlist: Unconventional White Tie

 

We are off to another wedding this weekend. Of course, it will be great! Hopefully I'll get to dance all night.

Most weddings we've been to this summer have been black tie affairs, which is always stylish. All men look good in a tuxedo and the girls get to dress up in their best ensembles. This weekend though the dress code is white tie, which for some reason seems to always make female guests think they need to dress much more formal, dusting off that ill-fitting taffeta dress they've inherited from their aunt and paring it with a pearl necklace or the likes. I think it's too bad. White tie dinners should be just as fun and frivolous. So, this week's Friday Wishlist is my dream get-up for a white tie bash.
