Preen is the first of the collections shown during New York Fashion Week to really woo me. I'm not as impressed as I usually am by the likes of Derek Lam (too many material and color clashes), Thakoon (too busy) and Zac Posen (too many mermaid gowns and skirts) but design duo Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi's collection feels coherent and carefully thought through, although I think that the dresses and prints were far better executed than the single color pants, top and jacket combos. A well-cut printed dress feels infinitely more wearable than cornflower colored pants.
